Micah Thor had done a lot of cool stuff before becoming VP of Operations at Tech Guru. He studied abroad in England, was a professional ski instructor, and spent six years traveling with a band as their drummer. Suddenly, it’s not so hard to understand how an adventurer like Micah makes public speaking look so easy.
Back from CAMIS
Fast on the heels of Dan Moshe’s Autotask speaking engagement, Micah has presented on tech-related topics as well. Most recently, Micah spoke at the Community Action Management Information Systems (CAMIS) Conference in Breezy Point, Minn. “It went great,” Micah says. He presented four different sessions on Google Apps, Staying Secure Online, The Cloud, and Tablets. The CAMIS group strives to improve members’ management information systems to advance and support each agency’s mission.
Back to School
Micah enjoys every opportunity to get in front of a group and speak about the work he does with Tech Guru. A few weeks ago Micah spoke in front of a group of high school seniors through a group called Genesys Works, which helps at-risk teens prepare for college. Joining them on a career day, Micah spoke with the students about the workforce, interviews, and promotions. The kids wanted to know about Micah’s background, and he fielded questions such as , “What’s it like to run a company?” and “What don’t you like about your job?”
